Mosquitoes are the one of animals that easily spread disease. Only with one bite, the dangerous disease can enter the human body. The disease that is transmitted through mosquitoes other than DHF (Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever) is malaria.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2015, there were 214 million new cases of malaria worldwide. In the same year, there were 438,000 cases of malaria which resulted in death. In Indonesia itself, malaria is the most common disease in Papua, East Nusa Tenggara, Central Sulawesi and Maluku.

Initially, malaria was transmitted through female Anopheles mosquitoes. These mosquitoes usually bite humans at night.

It is not such as the Aedes Aegypti mosquito that causes dengue disease that breeds in clean water. Anopheles mosquitoes prefer in dirty water to breed. Therefore, you need to pay attention to the cleanliness of the water in your neighborhood.

After that, malaria which was initially brought by Anopheles mosquitoes is the form of parasite, they entered the blood circulation. Next, they go into the cells of the liver and attack the body's system.

The initial infection will occur and develop in the liver. Then, the parasite re-enters the bloodstream and attacks the red blood cells. After that, the parasite uses red blood cells as a breeding ground.

The red blood cells are full of malaria parasites that will erupt. It causes the parasite in the bloodstream. These infected red blood cells erupt every two or three days. When it happens, malaria sufferers will experience the symptoms of fever, chills, and sweating.

Actually there are many types of Plasmodium parasites. There are five types of  plasmodium parasites that can infect humans. The plasmodium parasite is the most widely found in Indonesia, only two types. They follow:

Plasmodium Falciparum
Plasmodium falciparum is the most common parasite that cause malaria and ranks first as a cause of death caused by malaria.

Plasmodium Vivax
Plasmodium vivax causes the symptoms that are slightly milder than malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum. However, plasmodium vivax can make malaria recur because it can survive in the liver for the years.

The Symptoms of Malaria

The symptoms of malaria itself only appear 10 to 15 days after being bitten by an infected mosquito. Therefore, it is important for you to know malaria and its symptoms. Therefore, this disease can lead to respiratory problems or organ failure if it is not treated immediately.

However, in some cases the length of the incubation period depend on the type of parasite that infects. In fact, there are cases of malaria whose symptoms only appear a year after being infected.

The symptoms that arise are mild and difficult to identify as malaria. Some of the symptoms of malaria are as follows:
